Serialization – Behind the Waltz

Behind The Waltz Blog

Hey guys! Quick update. So, as you’ll probably come to find out, I tend to do a lot of research. I really like to know the ins and outs of the things I try to write about, after all. I’ve been researching how to best utilize my Wattpad account in order to deliver wicked cool content for your reading pleasure. I came across a Skillshare training course (edit: not sponsored) that talked about using serialized content in order to promote online interaction. I make it sound way more technical and boring than it actually is. What can I say? I have a gift.

Anyway, my point is that I have this super secret detective story I’ve been outlining, and I couldn’t figure out how to make it into a full-length novel series without it consuming me and my time like a vicious black hole. So, I think that this little discovery about serial novels might come in handy. Here’s my plan for my detective series going forward:

I post a chapter (roughly) a week on Wattpad. This lets me get the goblins out of my head so I can focus on the Connection and Keep Right series. Also, regular posting for my mailing list.

Part two; I take each completed part of the serial novel and compile it together and release an official ebook/paperback version on Amazon. That way, people who want to binge read the story can do so on their favorite devices instead of having to wait for the weekly updates. It’s kind of like binge watching a TV show on Netflix, except in book form. Cool, huh? If it works out, I might experiment with this format with a couple more story ideas that I have. I might even do an exclusive one for my mailing list, if you guys are interested.

Don’t worry; when the detective serial is ready, I’ll be posting a place where everyone who wants to check it out can find it. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m kind of excited about this! Okay, that’s all I have for now.
