New Heaven – Humble Beginnings

Behind The Waltz Blog

The bustling metropolis of New Heaven was founded in the mid to late 1940s in response to overwhelming public condemnation of the nation of Smokeshire after the conclusion of the Great War. The city’s founder, Landon Finsk, working in tandem with the industrious Viktor Rotheram the tenth, re-established New Heaven as a safe haven for the war-torn refugees stripped of their home and God given national heritage. Finsk allegedly discovered the name of New Heaven while talking with an immigrant family who had called it as such after they stepped off of their boat and laid eyes on the city’s majesty for the first time. The city council unanimously agreed upon the name the following day.

Due to Finsk’s unexpected vacancy of his position as Mayor of the newly founded New Heaven, Viktor Rotheram ran virtually unopposed and won the following election in a landslide. His ground-breaking policies for the city’s social and economic growth can still be felt by the city’s inhabitants to this day.
It is thanks to his run as Mayor that the city entered into an unprecedented era of prosperity that has lasted for many decades. His grandson, Viktor Rotheram the twelfth, returned from overseas to start up an ambitious and ludcrative global corporation from the ground up, proving that the Rotheram name is one of esteemed royalty in the city of New Heaven.
